I have experience with CSS only. Neverwrote a mod before. Can anyone help?

FYI, putting things in caps is considered shouting in netiquette.
You shouldn't need to do a mod. You have the option to put an image with your categories by putting the URL of the image in the "image" field when creating/editing a category.

I tried doing that and it didn't work.
I inputed this into the blank box
Did i do something wrong?

I haven't really tried it before, but the hover info box next to the input box says to put it in the 'images' folder of you skin.

Are you using a theme that includes the images in the display of the categories? Check your skin's .tpls.
