URL to your eFiction: http://www.psychfic.com/
Version of eFiction: 2.07
Have you bridged eFiction, if so with what?:no
Version of PHP: 4.3.11
Version of MySQL: 4.1.21-standard
Have you searched for your problem: yes
If so, what terms did you try: mysql error step 4
State the nature of your problem: I received the below MySQL error at step 4. Now, I moved on to step 5 and completed the install but I encountered multiple problems when doing this upgrade and ended up replacing the files all over again and trying the install several times. I probably shouldn't have done that, but everything seems to work fine now EXCEPT that there are around five duplicates of every link when in the User Account, Admin Account, Favorites and Story Links in an Author's Profile and Statistics, and in the Top Tens. How do I reduce these to just ONE link? And I noticed that I can't access the Challenges page. It says I don't have enough priviledges, but I am a level one Admin...
Do you have a test account for us? Yes. Penname: Test  Password: test

This was the error on Step 4:

A fatal MySQL error was encountered.
Query: CREATE TABLE `fanfiction_authorfields` ( `field_id` int(11) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, `field_type` tinyint(4) NOT NULL default '0', `field_name` varchar(30) NOT NULL default ' ', `field_title` varchar(255) NOT NULL default ' ', `field_options` text, `field_code_in` text, `field_code_out` text, `field_on` tinyint(1) NOT NULL default '0', PRIMARY KEY (`field_id`) ) TYPE=MyISAM;
Error: (1050) Table 'fanfiction_authorfields' already exists

You're asked to look at your site's settings in the admin area before asking for support.  It's also a good idea to read the admin panel.  You could have answered your question yourself if you'd done either.  It's also fairly obvious.

Goto Admin->Page Links and delete the duplicates.

You're also asked to post each problem in a separate thread.  So if you don't solve it on your own, you can start a separate thread for the challenges problem.
