URL to your eFiction: http://jackslashdaniel.com/fanfiction/index.php
Version of eFiction: 3.31
Have you bridged eFiction, if so with what?: n/a
Version of PHP: Using PHP MyAdmin 4.0.27
Version of MySQL:
Have you searched for your problem: Yes
If so, what terms did you try:
State the nature of your problem: I have seen similar problems when reading through the posts on this board, so I do apologize if this is considered a duplicate posting.  Previously, the site had run eFiction 1.1.  We had experienced some problems with the original installation, so I backed up the original contents (both the directory from the site and the database itself).  I chose to 'start fresh' by installing eFiction 3.31.  The installation process went perfect and I was able to log in successfully to the new site.  However, when I went into PHPMyAdmin to import the backup (with the authors, settings, etc.), I received this error upon opening http://jackslashdaniel.com/fanfiction/index.php:

_FATALERRORQuery: SELECT * FROM fanfiction_settings WHERE sitekey = 'eBrQ2hKveb'
Error: (1054) Unknown column 'sitekey' in 'where clause'

I'm not an eFiction expert by any means, so I'm not sure where I went wrong ... or how I can fix it.  Any help that could be offered would be greatly appreciated!

Do you have a test account for us? No

Ah, I think you're better off with upgrading the database along with the "files". The reason for this is that database went through changes (I'm assuming as much!) so you wouldn't be able to work the old database with the new files ... I think! You'll have to do it the "long" way, which is much better. πŸ˜›

Follow the directions in the readme.txt for upgrading from 1.1.  The database changed a lot.  The upgrade script takes the 1.1 database and converts things to the new format.  You can't skip it.
