I got as far as ?step=10 in the install, and got this. And it was going so well, too. *facepalm*
aficfanfiction_authors does indeed not exist (fanfiction_authors does, however). I gave it the prefix "afic" at some point during the install, since I'm thinking of running a second archive later, but it doesn't seem to have created *any* tables with that prefix.
That's the exact same thing I just got! I'm re-uploading the files and will try to reinstall, but I'm relieved to see it's not just me.
Hah, likewise.
I'm thinking I may just try reinstalling and skip the prefix this time -- it won't be /that/ big a deal to run a second copy if I do start another archive.
I was dumb and used the prefix again. *sighs* So this next time I'm following your lead and skipping that. Wish me luck!
If you mess up with the prefixes, you can just edit the tables' names in your database with something like phpmyAdmin.
The prefix for your tables should be listed in the setting page of your archive. If you can't get into that, look at the fanfiction_settings table.
Reupload all your files (except for TinyMCE), some things might not have been uploaded completely. After you do that and you still can't create the author table try this:
To create fanfiction_authors table in your databse, put this into the SQL, "Run SQL query/queries on database" space using phpmyAdmin:

As far as I know I didn't mess up; I entered it where it was asked for.
fanfiction_authors already exists. It seems to have been trying to write to aficfanfiction_authors, which doesn't for some reason.
I'll keep trying.
If fanfiction_authors exists and aficfanfiction_authors doesn't, just rename fanfiction_authors to aficfanfiction_authors.

I wound up just re-running the install without the prefix, and it seems to be working. π Thanks for your response.
The problem is that the install isn't creating the tables with the prefix.. it's just creating the tables without the prefix so it's just fanfiction_ instead of tableprefixfanfiction_ ?
The settings table is created with the prefix no problem, it's just the other ones.

Actually, Jenny, I think that's the way it's supposed to work. You can have a different tableprefix for the settings table, or at least I do on my install and it hasn't caused any problems...
But if there were multiple installs then they would clash? :S

No they wouldn't. You can still set a table prefix for all the tables to separate them. It just doesn't have to be the same as the prefix for the settings table for that particular install.
If you are trying to set a prefix for those tables and it's not working, then there is something wrong. I think you do it in two separate places in the install. Does it ask you twice?
I received the same error, and again even after I made sure not to give the settings table and the other tables the same prefix. The easiest way to fix this is to go into phpMyAdmin and delete the prefix from the settings table (edit the table, NOT empty it) then hit the back button to redo step 10. If you plan on running multiple copies of eFiction from the same database (or already are, unless the previous install has table prefixes) this is not a good idea. It's likely that you'll run into the same problem again.
