Hey guys, I'm not really new to eFiction, I'm an admin for a popular site but I've never really installed it from scratch. I installed it yesterday to my personal site and the installation was pretty easy, got my skins set up and everything just perfectly. Today, I went to start adding my stories but got this error message:

Warning: mkdir() [function.mkdir]: No such file or directory in /usr/home/tastinr1/public_html/vintagekiss/eFiction351/stories.php on line 251

Warning: chmod() [function.chmod]: No such file or directory in /usr/home/tastinr1/public_html/vintagekiss/eFiction351/stories.php on line 252

Warning: fopen(/usr/home/tastinr1/p/1/5.txt) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/home/tastinr1/public_html/vintagekiss/eFiction351/stories.php on line 254

Warning: chmod() [function.chmod]: No such file or directory in /usr/home/tastinr1/public_html/vintagekiss/eFiction351/stories.php on line 260

Its adds the story to the most recent page, but when I click on it, the chapter doesn't show up:

I set up a testuser if you need to log in:
username: testuser
password: user123
http://vintagekiss.tasting-eden.com/eFiction351/index.php

I searched the boards but I didn't see anything, sorry if I missed something. I'm a total noob at this  πŸ™‚

Hey, you should fill out the Support Request Template.

Also, I'm pretty sure I've seen this same problem before, and it's a server thing. Let me see if I can't find the thread.

Yes, here it is: https://efiction.org/forums/index.php?topic=6453.0  Not very helpful, though.
Here's another: https://efiction.org/forums/index.php?topic=6705.0

And other related: https://efiction.org/forums/index.php?topic=6452.0
https://efiction.org/forums/index.php?topic=6322.0

Incidentally, the trick to searching is to make sure to not include information specific to your site, such as the whole path '/usr/home/tastinr1/public_html/vintagekiss/eFiction351/stories.php'. That's unique and you'd of course never find it.  Instead, I took out everything up to stories.php and ran that through the search here to find all these results.

I'm guessing that you had a problem chmod-ing the correct stories folder the right way. Anytime you get chapters added with the story text, that's usually the problem, and the chmod errors are a good hint too.

But I'm glad that you got it fixed now. πŸ™‚
