It sounds like you've got your database information incorrect.  You still need to have that in properly no matter who installs it.  (Note that you really shouldn't share the database info with anyone, especially not here in public, because it makes it easier to get hacked.)  If you have access to cPanel or PHPMyAdmin you can find this information, or you can ask your host.

Have you taken a look at this wiki entry? https://efiction.org/wiki/index.php5?title=Installing_3.0

1) Never, ever make a post and them come back less than 5 minutes later wondering why you haven't gotten a reply. Everyone here is a volunteer, and as such, as to fit in helping out between sleep, eating, working jobs that pay and/or going to school, etc. Sometimes, there just might not be anyone here.

2) Your database configuration depends on your host. Please read this article on the wiki for in-depth installation instructions: https://efiction.org/wiki/index.php5?title=Installing_3.0

"Database name" is the name of your database. "Database user" is the user assigned to that database.  "Database password" is the password associated with that user; it's all pretty self-explanatory.  If you don't understand what a database is, you can search "MySQL database" and I'm sure there's a wikipedia entry and lots of other good sites that will explain it.  The link to the eFiction wiki that both Carissa and I linked you to explains how to create a database in cPanel. If you don't that kind of access then you'll have to talk to your host.
