URL to your eFiction: http://vampire.fan-fictions.net/
Version of eFiction: 3.4.3
Have you bridged eFiction, if so with what?: No
Version of PHP: 4.4.7
Version of MySQL: -,-

Have you searched for your problem:
Yes, but the two threads I found did not help me to solve the problem.

State the nature of your problem:
No email are going through, they aren't bouncing back either. They just aren't send or don't go through.

If so, what terms did you try:
I tried everything suggested in the various other threads I found on the forum. Using different smtp-services (My own: Hosteurope and Gmail) to test if one wasn't working. Using different email-adresses. Leaving SMTP blank. I even contacted my hosting company, asking them to check their configurations. They say nothing is wrong and the settings are fine and should allow emails to get through.  The skript 'is' at fault, they said.

I am not sure what to make of the problem.

I still could not fix the problem.

My host keeps telling me, that the problem lies not with them.

And really don't know what else to do.

I have a lot of trouble with this recently, and I'm pretty sure it's because my site is blacklisted by a bunch of the email providers.  This is because we've got a fairly large number of members, and they're not all very smart.  We got an email from our host, saying that Yahoo was threatening to blacklist the server because of a bunch of the notification emails being reported as spam by like 15 people.  This is why they're stupid - because they asked for them in the first place! They turned them on in their profiles.

So that's one possibility.  It's possible the emails are going out, but you might be blacklisted, and I'm not sure email via SMTP fixes that.  Is any getting through at all?  A good test would be to try sending to someone who has a private account, not Yahoo or Hotmail or Gmail or any of that, but someone who has their own domain.

I don't know if you've taken a look at this: https://efiction.org/wiki/index.php5?title=Common_Email_Problems

@ Becca: Yeah, I read that Wiki article more times than I can count, and also all the other threads I found on this forum, that described similar problems.

@ Tammy:
No, it doesn't.

I tried the email settings with SMTP and without. I contacted my hosting company, asking for support on the problem and in regards to SPF (which I read in the WIKI, could be a problem). But all I got in return was something like "It's the scripts fault and we don't give support for it." They did not even answer my question concerning SPF.

So, either it is the script, or I configured SMTP wrong, when trying to use it, or it is my hosting company. I have no clue.

I'm suffering from exactly same problem, my host keeps telling me everything is fine, I added my SPF records, but no mail is going to users or vice versa. My Contact Us page isn't working either.
