Hi again, Carissa you said if i had any probs with bridging SMF and Efiction to ask you, i posted in the original post a couple of days ago but received no reply, thought maybe you didnt see it there.

I have managed to bridge SMF & efiction, which has worked fine, lost a few members in the process from efiction but read somewhere that would happen. The probs i have now are;

1. Once i bridged the two together i now go to login in the efiction site (www.scribes2b.com) and it takes me to the forum home page, is there a way to redirect it back to the efiction site so it shows the home page like it use to before the bridge?

2. If you log into the efiction site with the wrong user name/password it doesnt tell you that its wrong it just takes you to the home page of the efiction site with the menu on the left and blank in the middle, and thats it, this only started happening after the bridge, have i not redirected something else when i bridged the two together?

3.  When a new user signs up then logs in and clicks on the link i have made in smf to go back to the stories website they just have a white page with writing- the skin doesnt show - i have read a few forums that say to put in the web address to go to their profile so they can set their skin but like everyone has said its only a temp fix, do you know why it keeps doing this and how to fix it.  I have the skin set in admin settings and i even tried deleting all other skins but the one.  Is there some sort of coding that i can put in the index.php of efiction to make it go to my skin?

I just turned debugging on and this is the message that appears when i go back to the efiction site with the white page.... does this mean anything to you? makes no sense to me.

4.  My tinymc editor now shows up with errors when you try to add a story, where it should say 'font' in the box it has $lang_theme_font_size}, where you choose the box for heading, paragraph etc it now says $lang_theme_block and the other one says $lang_theme_style_select} and the underline, bold, italic images arent showing, im thinking something wrong with the tinymc files but have no idea and havent done anything to change them so totally confused.  πŸ˜•

Other than that the bridge was quite simple to do with the instructions in the bridge folder that comes with efiction, was great!!

Could you please please help me with these problems, thank you thank you.

Kylie

Ps. Feel free to visit our site (www.scribes2b.com) and let me know if there is anything else i have done wrong that needs fixing. All feedback welcome. Thanks again.

Carissa was trying to redirect login back to efiction, but it was some huge project, and as far as I know, she hasn't figured it out yet.

Hi, thanks for replying.

I thought it would just be a matter of redirecting the login from smf to efiction but wasnt sure what file to alter... or am i way off base with this??

Would you happen to know about the other errors (No.2,3,4) i am receiving that i also put in my post?

Thanks
Kylie

Nope, no clue. I haven't even figured out how to bridge them in the first place.

I think the reason why the login redirects that way, is because you are really using the SMF log-in, so of course it takes you to itself. You would have to figure out how to change SMF's log-in to redirect to a different site.

As for the skin problem, try editing your fanfiction_authorpref table in the database. Have the userskin default be a skin you use on your site, so that way whenever a new row is formed, it will use the skin listed. Or with the bridge it might not in fanfiction_authorpref, I don't know.
