Thank you 🙂
I do know of quite a few archives who have held off on upgrading to 2.0, but whether that's because they were dithering like I was or because they're not going to upgrade to 3 either, I'm not too sure about 🙂
oooh! this is exciting! i love that it'll be able to be bridged! *dances*
can't wait for you to realease this!
any word yet on when this will be available tammy?

To keep the 3.0 error reports from getting mixed up with the 2.0 error reports and to keep this thread from growing out of control, I've installed an error reporting module on my site. For now, to keep them separate, please post errors you find in the 3.0 preview at: http://efiction.hugosnebula.com/infusions/error_reports/error_reports.php
It should help us track things more effectively.
I really like the new breadcrumb navigation. Great work Tammy! 😀
This new version is looking really spiffy. Unfortunately, I can't get to see too much from this demo because I keep encountering MySQL errors, but I like what I see so far.

Ah, this makes much more sense. 🙂
I think the demo is also where Tammy works on the script. She might be in the middle of something so that may account for the errors. However, you might want to PM Tammy or post the errors in here in case there is something wrong that she hasn't seen yet.

Yes, as Carissa said, please post bugs you find. You can reply here in this thread (please don't post them in the 2.0 Bugs forum) or you can use the error reports script I set up over at my site. http://efiction.hugosnebula.com/infusions/error_reports/error_reports.php
oooh i like the new colors and the update to the forum...
that being said will the beta be up to test on our sites soon?
Hmm. Very interesting. It looks good.
I was wondering, though, if there would be a way to extract the functionality of efiction and put it on another page--i.e. a clear method to turn efiction into a plugin for a unified site look, for instance. As it is, it's awfully hard to use efiction with a cms, for instance, since everything about efiction needs to be built solely for it.
Also, will there be options for download bridges? I use IPB, and would really like to have that be built in. I'm sure VB and a few other systems would be nice too.
Keep up the good work!
3.0 should be easier to bridge. I don't know if any bridges will be included with the main download though, but I think that there will probably be lots of mods to bridge efiction with forums and other things.
Whoever said nothing is impossible never tried slamming a revolving door.

efic version: 3.5.5 latest patches: yes
bridges: none mods: challenges, tracker, story end, beta, word
For testing purposes, I bridged eFiction with PHP-Fusion. That bridge will be included as an example.
has there been any further updates on this?
it's not been released yet. Still being worked on.

Grrr. I wish bridging could be made easier somehow.
My perspective is this - I use cpanel hosting because it's easy. One click fantastico installs are wonderful - but each CMS or forum install gets a separate database.
It would be sweet to be able to bridge, for example, eFiction to an existing forum (or CMS, whatever) database. For eFic to call the login info from the SMF database but still (the option to) retain a separate database for other (strictly efic) data.
Or, perhaps, in the exact opposite direction, what about an all-in one CMS/Forum/eFiction package? For example, I'm in love with the integration possible with mkportal and SMF. You get a complete CMS, blog support for each member, forum, etc. all wrapped up together. All it's missing is efiction, and decent URL redirection/rewriting.
I suppose this is more of a wishlist, I suppose.
I'm really keen on the beta so far, though, especially the extra fields for author commentary.
