I talked to the host and they fixed some of the issues.
They don't have sendmail or SMTP enabled, and I was wondering if there was any way to direct it to my personal e-mail.
No you've got to have a program on the server to send mail from that's what the sendmail or smtp server does.
sendmail_from: no value
sendmail_path: /usr/sbin/sendmail -t -i*down a line or two*
SMTP: localhost
smtp_port: 25
Does any of this mean that sedmail or SMTP are enabled?
I am afraid to ask if they will enable it because they will most likely tell me that I have no right asking them to, as I am not paying. I asked them to fix some errors before, and they told me I wasn't entitled to complain because I was using the free service instead of the pay service.
It looks like sendmail is enabled, but it may not be. You can also subscribe to an SMTP service, but they usually aren't free.
If your host is that rude, I'd switch though. Just on principle.
Supposedly my gmail account can be used as an SMTP account. I cant seem to get it to work.
My host can't do anything to disable SMTP can they?
Meanwhile, I will keep trying.
EDIT: I found out that gmail wont work without SSL authentication
Also, I can't make SMTP work period. My AIM account is supposed to be an SMTP account as well, but it won't work either. I will try re-upoadig the admin files like babaca suggested. I somehow doubt that wil lwork though...
Nevermid. I didnt know safe_mode had to be off for SMTP to work. The host told me that, anyway. well, thanx for all the work, and I guess this is solved.............
