Ok I don;t know if  any of you are working with dreamhost but i am having problems with it. My previosu site wa staken down for some reason and I have start this again.

I am in the midst of the fist step whichis to create the database to transfer efiction to. I did that with no problems

Dreamhost has its own FTP web based client. I went to it to transfer the files and the folder for efiction was not there.

Is anyone there that can tell me what to do step by step?

I know thats a bit much to ask but I am no computer wiz.

I would suggest using your own FTP client. Almost everything web-based in Dreamhost is bass-ackwards.

If you are dead set on using it though, make sure the files are under domainname.com (or whatever your domain is.)

I created a new subdirectory and named it efiction. I tried to transfer the files but it would only let me do the php..the others said that needed to be ftp mode. Not sure what that is.

I tried using my FTP client but I had trouble connecting with it.

Someone's forwarding your domain.  Talk to your host.

The nameservers for angelsden.com are the following:

  Name Server: NS1.TITANINTERNET.CO.UK
  Name Server: NS2.TITANINTERNET.CO.UK
  Name Server: NS3.TITANINTERNET.CO.UK

Which means that the domain isn't being hosted by Dreamhost. The .co.uk is consistent with the redirect, which also is .co.uk. This makes me think that company owns it and has parked it with the .co.uk version, which they prefer as their primary domain. If you bought it from them, however, the namesevers need to be switched to the appropriate ones for Dreamhost. The .net version appears to be unregistered.

So, basically, what Tammy said.

The domain contact also hasn't been modified since 2008-08-30 11:05:46 UTC so if you bought it from these people you really need to get on the registrar to update that.

I think a possible scenario is not that your site was necessarily 'taken down', but your domain expired and maybe you never renewed it? If that is the case and it has been a while, they may try to charge you more to get your domain back. It's happened to me with 1&1 internet and they had me call a third party company that now owned the domain I had...and they wanted $40 USD.

If this is your registrar, then contact them as well:
COMPUTER SERVICES LANGENBACH GMBH DBA JOKER.COM

If it's not your registrar...then it's possible that you simply don't own the domain anymore πŸ™

Did you register the domain through Dreamhost or through another service?

Because the other guys appear to have had it for years without a lapse in registration so if they let you "register" a domain that was already taken, you need to go on the warpath and demand your money back.
