over wrote mysql with another program
corrupted mysql

Everything was running fine.
I created a data base for a different program
Apparently I loaded the .sql file for the new program into efiction.
Efiction stopped working. This error came up.

The database is there as well as all of the data.
I added the install file and got these errors:

I found the reference to my php on line 7 but I couldn't figure it our.
I admit I am lost and I can't figure out how to get back to using my website.

have you tried dropping all the tables in the database and then importing a backup of your efiction tables, assuming you have a backup of them before they corrupted?

Check your mysql users for the database. It's not connecting so it's probably going to be a problem with your config.php file or some of the information in it.
I spent over an hour looking though the posts and really confused myself.
While falling asleep this morning I started running all the things I read through my mind and realized what I needed to do. I got up and deleted my user name then reentered it with the correct password for the database. It came back immediately.
