We're experiencing a problem with the shoutbox here:
http://xenolegacy.com/fanfiction/index.php
When I attempt to "shout" I get this message:
Warning: Unexpected character in input: '' (ASCII=15) state=1 in /usr/local/dh/cgi-system/php.cgi on line 1228
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /usr/local/dh/cgi-system/php.cgi on line 1228
Digging around to see if I can fix it myself, I find that blocks/shoutbox/init.php also shows this error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: dbquery() in /home/.barnie/hundredseries/www.xenolegacy.com/fanfiction/blocks/shoutbox/init.php on line 2
I have no idea if this is something I can fix through eFiction or if is my host (dreamhost) being weird. Thank you for so much help so far. I greatly appreciate it!
I just tried mine and I had no problems.
I think we'll need more info. Are you running 3.0.2? Can anyone post, or just memebrs? Did you modify it in any way?
Whoever said nothing is impossible never tried slamming a revolving door.

That error doesn't seem to be coming from the shoutbox, but from php.cgi on your server which isn't part of the eFiction script. I'd talk to your hosting company.
Just for anyone else on dreamhost, the shoutbox seems to work if you use PHP Version 5.1.2, at least on my test site.
