Ok, so, I've enabled the captcha block via the Admin panel, because I am getting an absolutely ridiculous amount of spam.
And now the captcha doesn't appear. I can't seem to pinpoint the problem (possible due to lack of deep PHP knowledge). This is quite a big problem, as without the captcha, I'll get spam-raped, but if I enable it, no one can sign up. Lose-Lose.

Have you searched for your problem: Yes. Found a few cases of Captchas not matching, but nothing on them not appearing.

My captcha didn't appear for a while, I got a red X instead of the image. I had to have Freetype installed on my server. Email your hosting provider and see if it's enabled. If not, ask them to install it.
