I installed 3.3 the other night and after a few small problems, everything was running fine.  Now, all of a sudden, I cannot stay logged in.

After I log in I get the account options.  If I click anything, I'm logged out.

I have not changed the sitekey.

I have checked this on several computers using different browsers.  I've made sure that the browser is set to accept cookies. I've even whitelisted the site and made sure even the popup blocker knows the site is safe.

None of the computers I've tried this on have a firewall or any sort of monitoring software that could be interfering.

I have not changed any settings since this morning, when I successfully posted a test story.  BEFORE I was able to post a test story I had to change the storage to mysql, but I remained logged in after changing that, and was able to post the story.

I get no error messages beyond "You are not authorized to access that function."

Did you try deleting all your cookies and temporary internet files?

Whoever said nothing is impossible never tried slamming a revolving door.

That was the very first thing.  The second thing I tried was different browsers.  Then different computers.

I have a feeling the problem is with trying to use the database instead of files.  Is there any way I can change this that doesn't involve reinstalling and setting everything up again? I can't get to the admin menu to change it from there.

Login has nothing to do with database vs files.

Your site isn't setting either session or cookie information.  The theme/skin switcher isn't working for the same reason.  It's not saving the session cookie naming the skin.

Contact your host.

But it worked before.  It all worked perfectly fine, then I changed how it stores the files. I posted a test story, logged out, and then it stopped working.

Still you should check with your webhost because sometimes they will update or do "improvements" to their servers that might hose your stuff. Let them know and they can tell you if they've changed a setting on their end somewhere.

Sorry to bump this back up to the top, but I'm having an identical problem and have tried identical solutions. However, I can log in to SMF and Coppermine without any problems. I haven't bridged any of them with anything else (though I have two sites sharing the same authors table). Should I still contact my host about this? The version I'm running is 3.4.3 and the problem began after upgrading.

(I can also confirm that the problem isn't storing stories in the database because I store them in the stories folder.)
