I'm just curious if this is possible or not. I have upgraded and seem to encounter the same issues that I had months ago. It reminded me why I abadoned the project in the first place. Somewhere along the line something got messed up. So I'm wondering if I could uninstall efiction, remove all the databases and files from my server. Reinstall it fresh and then plug in the database information in myphpadmin for each database as well as reupload all the stories. I don't want to lose the stories, the authors info or the statistics but I've had it up to my neck with these issues and figure that the only way to get rid of them is to just do a new install but be able to some how plug in the data. I hope that makes sense.
I believe you can do this. Export all of your database info from PHP MyAdmin. then delete all of the files etc from your FTP server and do the fresh install. You can then import the data back into your new database afterwards.
My Site:
eFiction: v3.4.3
PHP: 5.2.6
MySQL: 5.0.45-community
Mods: Challenges, Submit Time and Word Count
Just make sure you're importing back into the same version that you exported out of. IE You can't export a 2.0.7 database and then install 3.4.3 and have the database match.
