Hi everyone,

I'm new at the forum and new with eFiction so if i'm not understanding the obvious things or anythink like that, please understand i'm not lazy or stupid, just new. πŸ™‚

IF this is the wrong board feel fre to move it to the right. πŸ™‚

Okay, i'm new at the bridging part. And kind of new at efiction as well. I'm however used with SMF. πŸ™‚ I've created a test site, SMF in a folder, efic in a subfolder. Logging in works great, logging out from efic using the efic-logout link doesn't work, it's not a problem since i'm going to code it away anyhow. However, clicking on the username of any member on efic ends in this error:

A fatal MySQL error was encountered.
Query: SELECT *, UNIX_TIMESTAMP(date) as date FROM dwefic_members as author LEFT JOIN settingsfanfiction_authorprefs as ap ON ap.uid = author.ID_MEMBER WHERE author.ID_MEMBER = '1' LIMIT 1
Error: (1054) Unknown column 'date' in 'field list'

To me that means something went wrong (duh), however i'm not sure what and how to get it to work, and if it's efic, SMF, both or the bridge-thingy giving the errors.

Details:
I'm using SMF 1.1.5 and it is a clean install, the eFiction (latest) is also a clean install, and both are connected with the same database and database-user, and same password of course.
The error log in the SMF-part is empty. (There is no eFic error log, right?)
I've run all the Maintance-thingies under the eFiction-admin part. So it's updated and everything. πŸ™‚

I'm sorry for not giving the link to my site, I don't want bots and crawlers to take it. πŸ™‚ Of course, if necissary i could PM (message) it .
Also, sorry for spelling or grammar mistakes, english is not my first language.

If you need anymore information just ask. πŸ™‚

Thanks in advance.

Kindly, Alexia

A link to your site? Unless it's a really simple or common problem, we can't really offer any help without it...

Okay, here goes:

www[dot]reando[dot]com/dw/fic/  <-- Efiction.
www[dot]reando[dot]com/dw/ <-- Forum

I'm sorry for the [dot]-thingies but i don't want the search engines and bot and so on to find refrences to my site. πŸ™‚ Wasn't sure if it would be okay if i PM'ed it to you. If so, i could edit my post to take the links away and PM instead.

Thanks for the reply,
Alexia

Search engines are going to find your site anyway...that's what they do. You should write a robots.txt file if you don't want them crawling it. (Though the more dishonest ones will crawl it anyway...)

Oh, okay. I'll take a look at writing the robots-file then. πŸ™‚ Even though it wont help for all of them. ^^ Thanks for telling me about it. πŸ™‚

however, the errors mentioned above are still there.
