Thank you =), but when i download the file again, i din't see the file (profile.php)
Sorry about that, I uploaded it to my test space by accident.
It should be updated at this point. Try it again and let me know if it fixes you issues.
Thanks 🙂
Fixed, thank you =)
I'm not sure if this project is still being worked on, or if there is a newer one but I've searched the forums and I can't locate anything.
Anyway, I've installed the basic part of the application (sharing the user data between eFiction and VBulletin as I'm not interested in adding the skins part) and I can login to eFiction; however, that's about it. Next to none of the links in the fiction area work and I don't have access to the admin part of eFiction either.
I'm running the latest vb and eFiction.
Any ideas at all?
Can you post or PM me your site link?
Make sure you login to vBulletin first, then go over to eFiction and it should read your cookie. If you logged into eFiction already log out and let the bridge take care of that for you.
Is there an easy way to transfer the eFiction database data into the vBulletin database?
My small, but growing, group of members are asking for a forum now.

No easy way, unfortunately. The password encryption is different, so any transfer attempt would end up requiring a password reset for all of your users.
It could be done, but it would take some work.
I've PMed you the details 🙂
Using the test account I was able to login and see it's user area fine. There are some oddities in the bio area...it should be directing you out to the vBulletin bio. Double check the queries.php and get_session_variables.php files to make sure your forum path is correct.
Unless your admis is the same user ID as the admin in eFiction you will have to first visit eFiction, then go to your database and correct the admin flag on that bridged account. Not the best solution, but it works.
I've checked those two files and they were correct, but I redownloaded the package anyway and reuploaded the information and I still have the same error.
I've also changed the admin number through the database in eFiction to match my admin account number, and it's still not working...
I'm using vb 3.6.8 and the newest version of efiction, i have followed these directions and i'm still having issues. when i try to link to my efiction from my vbulletin i get the error:
A fatal MySQL error was encountered.
Query: SELECT stories.*, author.username as penname, UNIX_TIMESTAMP(stories.date) as date, UNIX_TIMESTAMP(stories.updated) as updated FROM (vb3_user as author, fanfiction_stories as stories) WHERE author.userid = stories.uid AND stories.validated > 0 ORDER BY stories.updated DESC LIMIT 1
Error: (0)
if i try to go directly to www.anime-extreme.net/fanfiction/admin.php it does navigate properly but will not allow me to login. plz help. i did see on your site that you are running the same version of vb as me. not sure what i'm doing wrong.
I need to upgrade my site to the new version of eFiction first, to see if the problem is due to a database change or something else.
I am planning on running the upgrades this weekend, so I can test more then.
That MySQL error is generated by the Random Story query in the skin integration. I had to comment that section out on my site as it was causing similar problems.
I will work on it at lunch today and see if I can get things working again.
i had not installed the vb skin integration yet, but i think i had discovered my own problem. this script will not work if you put a prefix on the efiction installation, you have to leave the prefix's blank so if i had aefanfiction_ it would not work. i tried reinstalling without a prefix and it is now functioning. i will wait for the skin integration though as you did say it was causing errors. ^_^
Ah, then it must be erroring on the random story for the default skin. In that case it is an error in the query.php file, I must not be passing the eFiction prefix to the queries correctly.
I will take a look and try to get that fixed up.
For the skin integration I think the problem is my host, but I am still working out the details. It is safe to try, since the skin is separate and will not effect the install.
Edit: I just checked and I am passing the table prefix fine. Double check your blocks/random/random.php file. make sure that this is the latest version from the download. I will dig around and see if I can find what is causing your problem.
