Hello,

So as of recently I updated to efic 3.5 and I'm just beginning to make my way around things. What I'm trying to do is get the blocks that appear on my index page to appear on the view story pages as well, making view story a two column layout. I've gotten that far, but while some of the blocks like the shout box, poll and account info appear on the view story page, others like site stats, catagories and a most recent story do not. My suspicion is that the reason for this isn't in the tpl files, but in the php files, like I need to turn on some permissions for these blocks to be included. Can someone point me to the correct file that needs to be edited so that I can add these blocks.

Below is my index page, I've been tampering with the viewstory on a hidden skin, but basically all I want is to make the view story look like the index and have the story load where the welcome and news feed appears.

Thanks in advance.

You should definitely take a look at the wiki pages on skinning. Particularly, variables.php. I'm not sure if your skin has one or not, but first you want to go into Admin > Blocks, and make sure the skins in question are set to Active (not Index Only). This insures they can displayed places other than then index page. However, a variables.php file (found in each skin's folder, if at all) can override these settings. So you'll want to look there and make sure the blocks are also set to active.

From the wiki:

For each block status, 0 sets the block inactive, so it doesn't appear. 1 sets the block to active, so that it can appear anywhere. 2 sets the block to index only, so that it only appears on the index page. Setting your blocks to 2 wherever possible is recommended to reduce consumption of system resources.

It will look like this:

$[blockname][status] = 1;

If you trying to put them on every page, it should be in the header and footer .tpl not on viewstory.  That way if you need to change something later, there's only 1 place to change it.

Thanks, it was in the variables.php in the skin folder. I'm all set. I was confused since I had them all set to active, yet not all showed up.
