I'm really happy that finally I managed to install efiction, I've been trying for 5 days and even if I was close there was always a problem, the webhost, then mysql,etc, but I always knew what was wrong or at least I figured out checking this forum.
This time, before the inicial configuration, I made the upload of two new skins and selected one of them as default skin.
I registered myself as admin. just right but the in the admin. control pannel I went to "skins".
It was a stupid thing to do but I selected the new skin again even if it was working already and just after I saw this page was to select the hidden skin. So I made the mistake of chose to use the skin and hide it at the same time.
THE PROBLEM:
in this moment my page it's all blank only with the basic text. for example, my homepage it's just a white page with this writen.

I tried to select other skins, including the default ones, to chande the hidden skins but don't matter what I do it doesn't change!

I'm not sure what's going on, as your page isn't even loading for me, but here's what I know about skinning.
You probably have admin status. Therefore, it doesn't matter if you hide a skin, because admins still see hidden skins just fine. They're only hidden from regular users (this is for the purpose of development).
Now, as far as regular users go, I'm not 100% on what happens when they've selected a skin that is later made hidden. I'd suspect they'd see the default_tpls, or a very simple black and white layout, but I've had users claim to be able to see skins that were hidden when they'd selected them as default in their profile (however intermittently), so I'm not really sure.
In writing this your page completed loading, and was completely blank. It wasn't even white background, it was they grey of my browser which tells me absolutely nothing loaded. I'm suspecting your problem probably isn't to do with your skins. What you showed makes me think it's like what a skin looks like when there's no CSS file, or in other words I think that at the time you were having loading issues already, and now they've gotten worse. You should probably check with your host to see what's up with your server.
Now you talk about it,the upload of the files was strange because the FTP was constantly asking me to connect again and insert the password, at the end 2 files, docs and part of blocks, weren't loaded (error 505 it said) and I just has to do that one by one.
I will try once more to upload all together, and this time with a different mysql account and then if the FTP keeps giving me problems I contact the host support.

It was a skin problem after all!
I contacted the host support who told me probably I was tryong to update folders beyond the limit, what I knew I wasn't. I just installed all over again efiction and exactly the same thinks happened: the page went blank when I selected the new skin I installed.
At the end the solution was simple, I just deleted the skin (Murder by Kali) and the site went instantly normal... I love that skin and know the file Kali provided it's perfectly fine....maybe I changed the skin file by mistake. *happy now*
