I'm trying to install 3.52 on my new database server, and when I go to the http://www.ayeka.net/fanfiction/ page, I get a blank page.... no install, no nothing.
Help?
Thanks!
What have you done so far to install it? You've created the database and uploaded the files? What host are you using? Please fill out the support request template at the top of the forum to give us more information which will more easily let us help you.
Sorry about that!
URL to your eFiction: http://www.ayeka.net/fanfiction.net
Version of eFiction: 3.52
Have you bridged eFiction, if so with what?: not yet...planning on SMF 2.0 RC 1.2
Version of PHP: 5.2.6-3ubuntu4.5
Version of MySQL: 5.0.75
Have you searched for your problem: Yes
If so, what terms did you try: "efiction install blank screen"
State the nature of your problem: Reciving no error message, only a blank screen when trying to go to efiction url.
Do you have a test account for us? no, software is not installed yet.
Currently I have uploaded the efiction folder, and chmod -R 777 * to the 'fanfiction' folder on my server. Also copied the config.php from /docs/ to /fanfiction/.
The fanfiction folder should not be chmod'd 777. Only the folder where you will store the stories should be 777. You also need to chmod your config.php to 666. However, even though you need to do both those things, I don't think that's your problem. When I go directly to the install file, it's giving an error about your mysqli connection.
ETA: A quick google search on the error message gives me this:

I think you want to do the first or ask your host to do it. If you're not familiar with php.ini, I'd ask your host to do it.
When i go to the link you specified, I get
403.php
I'm not really sure what the problem is? I've double checked the server configuration, and can't find anything out of sorts. I did notice that the /install/index.php file is zero bytes. It's also that way in the ZIP file I downloaded. Is that normal?
Edit:
Never mind. I fixed it.... was a problem with ZEND.
Now... I know there is someplace to set the forum directory, I just can't remember!
All the index.php are blank. It's to prevent people from direct access to the directory.
The directions for bridging SMF are in the SMF bridge folder, I believe.
Skins made by Kali are no longer supported!
