Currently, we have the reviews and the author responses in the same "field".
I was thinking of creating a mod where the author response would have it's own field in the database ... and you'd be able to edit the A.R. and not the actual review? (opt?)
I might try this when the next release comes out (Tammy said something about linking to separate reviews) so I was just trying to get some general feedback on whether it's "intermediate" possible or impossible to do in regards to upgrades and security issues, et cetera.
I understand the "but there are X reviews with author responses so it will take a long time" but I have no problem with that ...

Yeah it's probably not going to happen in the main download based on comments about it on other threads. The review and the author review are in the same section, so until there's a program that can separate text within a field and put them in different ones, it's probably not going to happen.
You could try to mod the script to do that though in the first place before they are meld into one. You'd just have to redo it every time a new version came out.
When Tammy mentioned linking to separate reviews, each review includes the author response. It's so when you get an alert that an author responded to your review, you can see the review and not a list of ALL your reviews.
Whoever said nothing is impossible never tried slamming a revolving door.

FTR, I have a theoretical version of this working. (By theoretical, I mean, I've done it. I just haven't tested it lots out yet.)
It is, obviously, for the new installation people, or for people who don't mind inconsistency, but if anyone wants to test this out, let me know.

This will probably happen in v4. I can split out the author's response, I think. We're probably going to be doing a lot of changes to the database for v4 so what's one more.
