hi, guys. i've searched the forum and i couldn't find the solution. so, i'm asking for help, again. here's my current problem. i had added a story under a member's name b/c she told me just post her story for her. the story is listed and is accessible, but her name does not appear on the authors' page as an author. how do i update the authors' page to include her name? thanks.
Did you try logging in as Admin and go to ADMIN->ARCHIVE MAINTENANCE->RECALCULATE SITE STATISTICS?

i did that, but she's still missing from the author's page.

there's no option to verify author on the member's page. here's the link to the story: http://castrofics.com/viewuser.php?uid=62 even the story count for the author is '0' despite the story clearly under her name. and on the authors' page ( http://castrofics.com/authors.php?list=authors) she's nowhere to be found. help, please!

It should put her as an author.

i'm hitting a brick wall here. she joined the site and then asked me to upload her story so she's only on the members' list and not the authors input by admins' list. when i click on her name, it takes me straight to her profile information. i'll try your suggestion for authors i actually input, but as for this particular author, i don't know what else i need to do. any other ideas? thanks.
update: i followed the same set of directions for an author that i input and released the account and still her name doesn't appear on the authors' list. i don't know what i'm doing wrong here.
Does she have a valid email address in her contact info? I think you can't release or validate an author without a real email address.

yes. in this case, i entered my own email address so i can test it out and again, no such luck.
Log in as admin
Go here http://castrofics.com/viewuser.php?uid=62
Her page should look something like this
It will ask you to verify validating the author. Click yes. It should give you a confirmation message.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the 'validate' option is to allow authors to post stories and the stories skip the submission queue.

Do you have some type of mod you added? I've tested it on my test site. I set up as a member, then as admin I posted using the member's name. It showed up as an author. Then I thought maybe the problem was you have your site set not to accept submission, so I turned submission off and did the same thing (post as a member) and the member showed up as an author. It seems like you must be missing some key thing to your site... although I'm not sure what that would be exactly.
