attach story to challenge from story rather than challenge???

Is there a way to attach a story to a challenge via the story rather than through the challenge?
Like you would add a story to your favorites

The reason I ask is because when you, as admin, have to attach a story to a challenge you have to search through the archive to find the story then go back to the challenge and respond from there. 
It would be much easier to attach to a challenge from the story itself.
