I'm looking to create a section of eFic that hosts helpful articles-- maybe like How-Tos or FAQs, but without making new custom pages each time. Basically, it would be like a new category, but users wouldn't be able to add to said category themselves (that is, see it when they add a story). I want it to be Admin-access only. What I'm thinking of doing is writing articles specific to my archive (things like "What makes a good XY fanfic" or something) and making them visible TO users (they can read and respond), but not allow them to write them themselves.
Is there a way to accomplish this? I'm thinking there could be a new category that I could just restrict access to, but I don't want this new category (or whatever it may be called) to interfere with the existing ones, which are sorted out by timeline (that is, Season 1, Season 2... and so on). Maybe I should make a new genre, so that articles that pertain to specific seasons can still be found, or should I make a whole new category for these sort of articles, since they're not fics?

Bump. Is this infeasible? I know you can lock categories, but I've seen no way of allowing Admins to add something to a Category but NOT allow Members; I still want Members to be able to SEE this category. It doesn't look like I can accomplish this with Classifications, because there doesn't seem to be an existing way of "locking" or altering access to Classifications, and this seems to make more sense as a Category, anyway. But input of ANY kind would be much appreciated! if I had to make edits, which would be easier to alter the access to-- Classifications or Categories?

I'm thinking this would be similar to how we CHMOD files-- you can have Read/Write/Execute for Level-1 admins, but anyone lower just gets Read abilities.

Admins can add to locked categories if I remember correctly.
