Hi there,

I know this might seem out of place in this forum in particular, or this entire board in general, but I do have a question. Well, a request, really.

You see, I love to mess around with archiving programs and try to figure them out. I'm always getting asked to help out with php work and archives in general, mostly eFiction, but I would like to figure some other programs out, just for fun.

My question is if anyone has heard of, or knows of, programs other than phpfanfiction, the Automated Archive, and eFiction. I've pretty much tried them all and I have them figured out to the point where I'm either pulling my hair out because I can't get them to work (which is the case with the Automated Archive), or I can manage most of the time without too much outside help.

I will always be a huge eFiction fan, and I will always use it or recommend it, but I'm curious by nature and I can't seem to find any programs on my own. So, if anyone can help me, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!

Deirdra

I myself am an efiction fan all the way, but there is one other fanfiction script that I know of, it's called FicHive. Last I checked it wasn't available, so good luck finding it.

There was Interactive Fiction, but their web site went down years ago. I can't tell if it's still running or if its been shelved; but it's not like I've looked that hard either.

(I also wasn't all that impressed with the security, which is why I ended up with eFiction.)

I'm sorry, but due to my schedule, I am not available for commissions.

Here is a link to some other automated archive scripts. As well as a download for FicHive. http://scripts.ringsworld.com/interactive-stories/fichive-v1/ It seems there is a script called Storystream, haven't heard of it or tried it though.

Btw, I'm going to move this to General Support 2.0 because this isn't an annoucncement, but it is a question.

Another one that I know of that is no longer being updated is called Storyline by IO Designs. This is the script that Adult Fan Fiction used on their archives. The people that originally had the archive have posted the script at their geocities page. http://www.geocities.com/cab_moore/storyline.html

I know of Storyline, and I hate that program. I can't explain why, but I do. I checked out FicHive and am having a few slight problems with it. I have it running, and it's working quite nicely, but I can't figure out how to get the program to add warnings, change the genres, and allow for more than one character choice. The program comes with 'stock' ratings and genres, but I can't seem to get them to change.

Thanks for all the help! I really do appreciate it.

I've seen a couple archives run on Automated Archive too. I've never messed with it from the admin standpoint, but from a reader's point of view, I wasn't that impressed.

Pretty late, but there's also InkTank, which hasn't updated since December 2004.

Fabulister has been in private development for ages, and who knows when it'll be publicly released (last post about it was about a year ago).
