I would love to be able to send newsletters.
Sure, we can send mails to members, authors or admins only BUT that is no newsletter.
I want people to be able so sign it/out.
And I would love to be able to use html. 😛

I would suggest Mailchimp. You could import users that have been active in say, the last 18 months and you can either use their templates for emails (that work well with mobile devices) or design your own. Each email comes with an unsubscribe link and emails that bounce are removed from your list.
If it hasn't changed since I used it, then up to 2000 users are free.
