This is really neat. 🙂 I really like the parchment paper on the white. I odn't think that you should use three different types of parchment-looking textures on the skin though. The have the main, big one, then the one in the middle, and then cartoon looking scrolls on the right. I think that you should change them all to match better. I really like the detail in the horizontal rule thing seperateing the header with the body.
Whoever said nothing is impossible never tried slamming a revolving door.

Looks great so far, I think though you should have like a splash page, so that you have a somewhat lo-fi version of the site for users on slower connections so they wouldn't have to wait for all of that to load. I agree with Jan on the three different textures, that there should only be one.
