Well, this was actually just a project for me to extricate myself from fanfiction.net. I had really become disenchanted with the enormity of the site and the new rules and making me agree to sell my firstborn just to post a new chapter. So I went hunting for something to archive my stories and I happened upon this site. After a few hours of futzing with it, I realized that I could let my friends come over and do the same. I mean, it seemed like a waste to just hold my stories with such a robust application like eFiction.
Anyway, that's how it kind of got started. I am specializing in Trek, Whedonverse, and West Wing fanfics right now. With a smattering of original fiction for good measure.

I don't participate in any of those fandoms, but I wanted to say I like the font you used. π
Just a suggestion. Update your help, tos, and rules docs from the default. I had a story that fit your West Wing challenge so I registered and posted it. However, I had no clue what your ratings meant or what the letters in "content contains" were.
It should be located in the footer, under Ratings.

I did edit the TOS and Rules to a certain degree, but the TOS so closely matches HopeStation.net's required TOS that I kept a majority of it. Why reinvent the wheel, right? They did want us to put a pledge at the top of the TOS to keep the site ad-free. That was one stipulation of the host; we had to agree to never use the site for revenue.

Omg I HATE fanfiction.net! I'm with you there. Talk about being lost in an endless sea. Try posting Harry Potter there. You become one in a million. A needle in a hastack of drivel. There is also no real sense of community and the site is constantly overrun with users. I'm still posted there, but only because I always have been. I tend to post 5 chapters at once because I can't stand to go there lol.
Anyway... your site looks good. The colors are easy on the eyes and the content well-structured. Banner's a bit big for my tastes, but not overly so. It's fine, really. I just like thinner banners I guess.

If you want a smaller banner you simply have to make a smaller image and modify the header.tpl file accordingly
from
<tr><td valign="top" height="225"><img src=""{skindir}/images/loc_header.jpg"" width="773" height="225"></td></tr>
to
<tr><td valign="top"><img src=""{skindir}/images/loc_header.jpg"></td></tr>"
That way, the td will take the height of your new banner and that will be it. π
