I was thinking of starting up a Topsites for fanfiction sites, seeing as Kali already created/runs a directory for fanfiction. So that people can have people vote on their sites, and see other 'top' fanfiction sites as well as another form of link exchange. And also turning one of my sites into a sort of digg.com-like site where people can submit stories they like and other people can vote on them. I'm wondering if anyone would be interested? π
Don't like Topsites too much personally, but maybe it could be something included into Kali's site - or "tied" to it in some way. It would make sense, I think.
Digg would be fantastic. I've thought about this myself (on a much smaller scale, just for my fandom - kind of like a pool of good stories), especially when I saw a German Web 2.0 site similiar to digg which had groups. That would be fantastic, unfortunately I haven't found something along those lines on an international site yet:(
Hm, well I could make different languages sections on my site for international stories, I know that there are lots of good sites out there in different languages.
EDIT: I gave myself a new project to work on, and this seems to be the result: top.fan-fix.com
I've added the following categories:
Fan Fiction
-Anime Manga
-Books
--Lord of the Rings
--Harry Potter
-Cartoons/Comics
-Movies
-Miscellaneous
--Crossovers
--Musicals/Plays
--Real People/Celebrities
-Television
-International
--German
--French
--Italian
--Portuguese
--Spanish
If you have any other suggestions let me know π
Looks nice! But are you sure about this part:
Non-Commercial. This site makes no monetary gains by posting links, and neither should the sites that are being linked to. Any monies earned from ads or donations are solely for the purpose of paying for web hostng.
I don't think a site like ff.net is non-commercial.
Thanks, yeah hm I'll edit that a bit. π
I tried to register and I got an error.
Module Error #1
That's all it said.
Yes, I filled everything out, the CAPTCHA was correct and clicked the little tickybox.
EDIT: I tried to re-register, with the same username, but it said the username was already taken, so I logged in with my info and it sent me to the registration page.
I submitted a fic and it worked though.
May I suggest adding a "games" category?
eFiction:3.5.1
Latest Patche(s):Yes
bridged?:No
modified?:Yes.
PHP:2.11.9.4
MySQL:5.0.32
It seemed like one of the modules was doing something funky to the registration, it says that you're registered as a user, and I tried registering a test account and it went through even though I got the same error message originally. Try logging in and see if it lets you. I've added the games category π (I'm a fan of the Silent Hill series as well)

ff.net is commercial as it can be. They earn money to pay salaries and their advertisement revenue is (was) very nice! Enough to live from.

Just an FYI, this is still a work in progress as offering free hosting for fanfiction sites is my top priority at the moment.
