I was wondering if anyone else is curious as to how many other eFiction users are out there. After checking backlinks, there seem to be quite a few, but why are us eFic users not united? I feel like we should have a web ring or something, or a listing. Kudos to you Kali though for the Fanfiction Directory, though I don't think everyone knows about it, maybe invites should be sent out?
I was planning on making an eFiction website directory, actually! I'm not sure why I never got around to finish it...

Hm would you like to co-maintain one together Jenny? I myself never seem to get around to finishing projects...
Sure. π That'd be cool. We might be able to get it up soon-ish. π

Now the question is, do we want it fanlisting style with just members names, countries and links? Or also have it as a directory somehow? Like categorize it by type of site and have members choose?
Perhaps we could use BellaBuffs and NinjaLinks?
I think NinjaLinks would be better. I was thinking that or creating a script with tagging capabilities instead of the categories. I'm not sure if Jem has implemented the tags in NinjaLinks though. o.O Shall check.

I've found some other directory scripts as well:
http://www.esyndicat.com/
http://www.cplinks.com/
http://script.arfooo.net/
http://www.phplinkdirectory.com/articlescript/phpLD_version_2.php
http://www.yaldirectory.com/
http://www.china-on-site.com/flexphplink/
http://ebizunion.orientarts.com/guidetosuper.php
It doesn't look very glamorous, but Fanlore already quite an extensive listing: http://fanlore.org/wiki/EFiction
Hm thanks for sharing Michelle, I wasn't even aware of that site. I think what we're hoping for is also a way for members to be linked together as opposed to just a link resource.
Yepp, I thought so. I just wanted to through in that link:)
Be careful with the directory script you use. Many of them have serious security holes.
Skins made by Kali are no longer supported!
I'll have a more extensive look through the list tomorrow. π
What are the main requirements/things we want?
I can only think of it mainly being a collection of eFic archives/users.

I was playing with Drupal this weekend for my site, and to my amazement it's uber-flexible and perfect for my site. I was testing to see how a web directory would do (there are several options as to how to make one with extensions). I just wanted to show off one of the things I've been able to produce so far:
For example a link page:
http://fan-fix.com/content/accio-fanfiction
I've integrated various extensions into the site so far (still in development), but I've found a way so that users can even rate links π Take a look at the pretty stars (several style options, but I thought those were cool). I can also add CAPTCHA if I so please, but at the moment don't have a need for it. I was thinking of hosting the listing at efiction.fan-fix.com, but now that I see it, I might as well just have it in my main (all-in-one fanfiction resource) site.
I like!
The rating system is pretty cool, and I like "Most Popular Web Links" that. It'll be super-nice for people looking for archives, too. Awesome.

It comes up blank for me:(
