Hi! I'm new to Efiction and I have a couple of administrative questions.
My first question is this:
In regards to archive registrants, is there a way to only select/allow certain people to submit stories to the site?
I ask this because, I want people to be able to register to read, but do not want 'unsolicited' submissions; only those from authors that I know or select. Is there a way to do that using Efic?
My second question is:
Is it possible to add an RSS feed to the main index page in one of the blocks; for instance, if I want to update the main page with a blog feed or something similar, is that possible? If so, how do I do that?
Thank you!

There are two ways to control submissions. 1) in submissions settings you can set 'automatically validate all submissions' to 'no'. This will put every submitted fic into a queue to be validated. Of course, anyone could still submit, which isn't optimal. 2) In submission settings, set "turn off unsolicited submissions" to "yes". Then, give everyone that you want to be able to submit admin level 4 status. This was designed exactly to do what you want it to do. They won't have any admin powers, but they will be able to submit when general submissions are off. And you can still use option 1 (unless you also have them 'validated', which means they skip the queue when it's on).
As for the RSS, you'd have to make a new block, which would involve some coding. Maybe you could base it off of one of the others, like most recent or something.

Thank you very much, that answers my questions!

I've just begun to realize the potential coolness of this idea for the sites I run, and I'm going to be investigating it. Thought I'd let you know. : )
Hm I'd take a look at some RSS parsers specifically Last RSS and SimplePie π
