This is a problem that I once had with version 3.2.1. I thought it had been fixed with version 3.3, but now I'm having the same problem again:
When working with an open series, when "Add to Series" is chosen, only the stories of the author/owner of THAT series are shown, not the stories of the author wanting to ADD their stories to this open series.
I've tried toggling the "Submission Settings", just to see if that made any difference, but it doesn't. I've tried signing in with various test accounts and attempted to add a story to a test open series I created in my own account ( http://www.gatchfanfic.com/viewuser.php?skin=WritingPlus3&action=seriesby&uid=1). Nothing has worked so far. The only fanfic brought up as an option are the stories of the person who created the open series. I've also tried re-uploading the various Series PHP files, with no luck.
Anyone have any clues?

Are you doing this as an author, or as an admin?
As an admin, it brings up a page with the single author's work, but there should be a link above it that says, Choose another author. Click on that and you should be able to select other authors' work.

It works fine on the admin side of things. Signed in as an Admin, I can add stories by other authors just fine. But I thought that when a series is open, anyone should be able to add their own stories to it. Or do I have this incorrect? That is what I was trying to do, as a normal member (not an admin) add a story to an open series. And that does not work. All it does is bring up the choices of the person who created the open series, not a list of the members stories.

As a normal member, you should only be able to add your own stories to a series. Not anyone else's.
Only as an admin can you add a third person's stories to a series.

That's what I thought, so something is definitely not working right.

Up until Efiction version 3.4.3 I continued to have the problem described in this thread. As of 3.4.3 open series are now working correctly. Consider this one marked as SOLVED. π
