I'm not sure this is an installation problem, since the archive is otherwise running fine, but it seemed the best place for it.
I am receiving a success message for the contact form, but no e-mails. Sendmail is configured correctly, and I double checked the archive e-mail address. I put in an unaltered contact.php. Is there anything else I can check?
Check your spam filters. If you're not getting errors, it's most likely being tagged as spam by your e-mail program and sent to trash.
I have no spam filters in place.
Does your web provider though? Your web provder can delete what they consider spam before it even gets to your mailbox. You could try removing the sendmail information.
I'm not sure that I understand. Do you mean bypass the function of the form in some way?
I use outlook express for my mail, and a pop e-mail account established on my domain (sg1-heliopolis.com), not an account from my service provider (SBC Yahoo).
Okay here's an example, my domain for some unknown reason has been flagged by comcast as a spammer twice. I've gotten it cleared up, and it's apparently a common problem with comcast flagging random domains as spammers. So their servers rejected all mail from my domain for a couple days. Many hosting providers offer spam filtering that stops spam at the SERVER before it gets to your inbox. So you may want to check with your web provider admin panel on this. The algorythms they use for this wouldn't necessarily be able to tell your sending mail to your own domain. And in fact, that would probably be a negative point.
Make sure you have a valid admin email.
And what I meant was leave the SMTP information empty and let it run through sendmail. Or if you didn't include the SMTP information, add it.
If you've got a URL I can see, I might be able to give you other ideas. You might try turning on debug and see if the extra error handling will throw an error for you to track down.
And may I say "Woohoo!" to Heliopolis moving to eFiction! π
I'll add the smtp info this evening. I haven't been using it, and I'll see if it helps.
On a related note, I signed up for an author account separate from my admin account, and I received that email at another address just fine.
I have considered using eFiction for a while, and this release of the script included some fixes that have made it possible, and I have figured out how to batch add some of the files using sql queries, which has been another stumbling block, considering there are about 10,000 stories in the combined archives (AutoArchive) at this point.
I'll let you know if I figure it out, or need further help by the morning.
I fixed it. The problem was a result of my dyslexia, not the script. Sorry for the hassle. It can be hard to see what's right in front of you sometimes.
Thx for your help.
No problem. Glad you got it fixed.
