Problem with word accents

Hi,

I am brazilian so I translated the eficion script to portuguese. I am using it on my site and everything is perfect except for one thing: If we start a sentence with a letter with accent, instead of the letter we see 3 dots (...)

For example:

If we write > É um dia lindo de sol
We get > ... um dia lindo de sol

For some reason it only happens if the accent is in the first letter of the sentence.

Why is this happening? I don't remember getting this error in other versions of the script.

I use 3.3.1 version.

Please help me. I can't run a fiction site with this problem, because we will many times start a sentence with É  =/
