My site: http://www.spntwisted.com

I searched for 'line breaks' and all I saw was a post that seemed to be the same problem in 2.0.

I'm using 3.1.1. I'm planning to upgrade later tonight or tomorrow as time permits.

Currently debug is off since I had an error with users not being able to edit stories while it was on. Tammy told me to turn it off in the other thread.

Basically whenever a story is edited it seems to add another line break tag to the following areas. Every time you edit it it gets another line break tag right after the last. It doesn't matter if it's edited by an admin or by the user. Any help would be appreciated. The story itself has no problems just every other box you type text into.

Story Summary
Story Notes
Chapter Notes

Got tinymce turned on?  It's add a paragraph tag. It's not a bug it's how tinyMCE works.

I don't have it turned on. Should it add a line break tag every time I edit? As in if I edit it 6 times it will end up with 6 line break tags.

Here's a screenshot of my tinyMCE in Site Settings set to off. Is there another place to change this setting? Or were you saying that by turning tinyMCE on it will solve the problem?

When I go to Settings->TinyMCE Configuration this is all I get.

Yeah TinyMCE is annoying. You just have to learn to deal with it.

Here's the page on my archive I use that explains the formatting a little. I am working on getting all my <p> tags to be clean though, so there are stringent rules. Just ignore them.

http://www.potionsandsnitches.net/fanfiction/viewpage.php?page=helpformatting

When there is a <p> and

a line break

like this, it adds the two together, making more line breaks. It shouldn't be duplicating though...

Whoever said nothing is impossible never tried slamming a revolving door.

It would only be mildly annoying if it just added 1 extra tag but it keeps adding another over and over.

Just curious if anybody had a clue about this. I saw that you posted a test story Tammy. Were you able to duplicate the problem?

Eventually.  It'll be fixed with the next update.

I turned on the TinyMCE editor and it solves the problem if you use it. Anybody that doesn't use it will still have the problem. I'd like to not be forced to use the editor but I'll settle. I still haven't upgraded to 3.2.1 yet so maybe it'll be fixed.

Even if I'm not using tinyMCE it seems to be fixed. Thanks. πŸ™‚
