When you input a bigest amount of text it doesn't see it, and it says that first you have to add text.
but if you put like a drabble... a line of text, when you put add stories it arrives this:
E’ stato riscontrato un errore irrisolvibile MySQL.
Query: SELECT PENNAMEFIELD AS penname FROM DBPREFIXfanfiction_coauthors AS c WHERE sid = '238' LEFT JOIN khficfanfiction_authors as author AS a ON a.UIDFIELD = c.uid
Error: (1064) You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'LEFT JOIN khficfanfiction_authors as author AS a ON a.UIDFIELD = c.uid' at line 1
I'm going to create in both an account for you.

I think the error is in the "PENNAMEFIELD"...I think it needs to have the underscore before it... but I'm not sure why it'd trigger only with a short amount of text...

Open stories.php and do a search and replace. Everywhere there is:
.PENNAMEFIELD.
replace it with
._PENNAMEFIELD.
I did as you said...
but still, when we put a big amount of text, it doesn't recognise it, and it says we have to add the story in the story area...
I really don't know what do to anymore

Do another search/replace in the same file:
Search for: .DBPREFIX.
Replace with: .TABLEPREFIX.
HTH
Steffen
OK, and another search/replace:
Search for: .UIDFIELD.
Replace with: ._UIDFIELD.
Now the stories are added, but somewhere is another error I cann't fix:
Query: SELECT author.penname AS penname FROM fanfiction_coauthors AS c WHERE sid = '700' LEFT JOIN fanfiction_authors as author AS a ON a.author.uid = c.uid
Error: (1064) You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'LEFT JOIN fanfiction_authors as author AS a ON a.author.uid = c.uid' at line 1
Any ideas?
Steffen

sorry for the dubble post:
we are still having problems:
You must include the text of your story either as an upload or as input into the textarea.
and if perhaps passes this one... it doesn't go the recent.

I'm not really sure what the query is saying, but messing around in phpmyadmin made me come up with this:
SELECT author.penname as penname FROM fanfiction_authors as author LEFT JOIN fanfiction_coauthors as c ON author.uid = c.uid WHERE sid = '1'
... but yeah, that's only a stand-alone query that works. I haven't got a copy of 3.5 to test it out.

Just wanted to say I enacted all these changes and it seems to be working fine on my test site.
another problem to add:
the stories that are updated and pass don't go to the recent block... and also it doesn't recognise them... like a member has 16 stories, but it says he has only 14 stories

I'm suddenly having this problem with an efiction site I am supporting as well. Stories seem to post and appeared in the Recent list just fine, but adding a new chapter or story produced the exact same SQL query error as above.
After updating stories.php to correct it for _UIDFIELD, _PENNAMEFIELD, and TABLEPREFIX, I am still getting a 1064 error for the following query:
SELECT author.penname AS penname FROM eficfanfiction_coauthors AS c WHERE sid = '683' LEFT JOIN eficfanfiction_authors as author AS a ON a.author.uid = c.uid
Error: (1064) You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'LEFT JOIN eficfanfiction_authors as author AS a ON a.author.uid = c.uid' at line 1
Can anybody tell me either how to fix the query or where I can get a copy of the 3.4.3 version of stories.php that supposedly works?
Try replacing those four lines as discussed here (switching around the query): https://efiction.org/forums/index.php?topic=6677.msg36148#msg36148
Otherwise, 3.4.3 can be downloaded at https://efiction.org/downloads/eFiction343.zip
Thanks! That fixed it, for now. Hopefully it'll get fixed in the new release.
