I just installed eFiction 3.5.1 on my server yesterday, and it worked just fine then. But today when I went back there, I found some things missing from the elegance skin, like the header image and some smaller differences. I tried the other two skins that come with eFiction, but found the same problems with them. Is anyone else having this problem? I haven't installed any mods, skins, bridges, etc. Help, someone? Thanks lots!

Note: If you click the link and the server asks you for a password, let me know. I will try to turn of the password protection if it gets to be a problem.

Did you change the template files? There seems to be "<div id="banner">" this happening a lot (the slashes) which is probably the culprit. :-/ I would suggest reuploading the template files.

I tried that just now, but it didn't help. πŸ˜₯ Any other ideas?

Are the files actually missing from the folders, or are they just not appearing when you view them? If the latter, maybe you have 'hotlink protection' or an .htaccess file that is stopping them from appearing? (This has happened to me loads of times when I forget to add the directory.)

It looks like there's something wrong with the actual files that do all the <div> stuff. Try reuploading the core files again? I installed 3.5.1 and the themes work fine for me.

Did you change the permissions on your /images folder? I tried to check to see if the images were there by going to
http://www.wizardsplay.com/fanfiction/skins/elegance/images/ and got a 403 error message, which may be preventing some of the images from showing up. This may also be due to the password protection. You shouldn't need to use it, if you don't want people viewing your images folder all you would need is a blank index.html (index.htm, or index.php) to prevent people from being able to view it.

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /fanfiction/skins/elegance/images/ on this server.

I would suggest removing any permissions you have changed, or password protection. Or is the password protection for the archive itself?

I took out the password protection, changed the Apache settings, restarted the webserver, reinstalled eFiction from scratch, cleared my Firefox cache, and did everything else I could think of that might possibly help. No difference. *frustrated* πŸ˜₯

This may sound silly but are the skins in their proper folder?

i.e. skins/elegance/images

and not in something like skins/elegance/elegance/images
ore skins/skins/elegance/images?

I've accidentally uploaded the skins folder inside itself incorrectly and end up with things looking similiar to that.

No, the script reads the CSS files, so it's all in the folder it's supposed to be in. πŸ˜›

Strange! I'm sure it's something to do with incorrect parsing or something. It is most likely the backslashing (") but I'm not sure how to solve it... Hm.

I had to rebuild my entire server to get this to work. Hopefully it won't happen again. πŸ˜₯

Ok.  Moving this to solved then.  Also, in future, please post to 3.0 support first unless you're SURE it's a bug in the script and not in your setup.
