Have you bridged eFiction, if so with what?: [Not sure, eFic2eFic, php-fusion, and SMF are in the folder but I don't know if they're running]
Any mods installed?: Challenges

Version of MySQL: [Not sure - 5.0.18?]
Have you searched for your problem: yes - manually skimmed the boards as well as searched for keywords like add, story, stories, queue, submit, submitted, series.
Do you have a test account for us? [Not sure, don't think so]
This problem seems to have started showing up after our recent upgrade to 3.4.3. I don't believe it existed before then.
When users submit a story to the queue, they show up labeled as part of an existing series (usually the last created open series, and *not* a series that the actual author put them in herself).
This only happens when the story being submitted is in preview mode, and after the submission process is complete it does not show up in the final validated version onscreen.
We're hoping someone has a fix for this issue as it is confusing our users rather a bit ^^;;
Note - I'm not sure about some of the basic questions in the preamble above (eg. mysql version and test account) but I'll be sending the link to this post to my colleague Shadow, and she will update/correct this thread if I've got anything wrong.
Thanks very much in advance for any help/suggestions anyone may have! 🙂
Hey!
I sorted out what was wrong...
In the table fanfiction_inseries there was an entry where there was no sid. I just deleted that entry and the problem is solved.
I don't know why this problem happened in the first place, maybe while someone was uploading their fic to the series and their computer crashed...I'm not sure, but it is fixed and that's all that really matters!

Hey, can you maybe explain a bit more clearly how you solved this? Because I'm having the exact same problem at my archive where people are saying it shows up as part of a series when they preview their story before posting.
I did browse through that inseries table and saw what looks like what you are describing:

The two that have zeroes in the 2nd number column from the left, are those what I should delete? And will that mess up the series that are IDed that? I just don't want to delete the wrong thing! Thanks!

Those should be series that have a sub-series within them. They shouldn't need to be deleted.
Bump. Cloudyvisions did you get your issue sorted out like Shadowess? If so or if we don't hear back from you in a week or so we'll close this bug.
No response... assumed solved.
