I encountered rss-feed problems with an upgraded e-fction and a freshly installed e-fiction software. The suggestions here in this thread did help me enormously with fixing it for both sites. I thought I should let you guys know.

I've had issues with RSS but looks like upgrade to 3.3.4 mostly fixes the RSS issues - live bookmarks with the RSS for my site works now! πŸ˜€

However, the RSS still doesn't work correctly with the livejournal syndicayted feed I have for the archive - the links the lj feed picks up on appear as relative, in a weird way, and hence don't work right.

So what should be linked to:
http://www.primevalarchive.co.uk/viewstory.php?sid=340

Appears as:
http://syndicated.livejournal.com/thearc_rss/340

The lj feed is http://syndicated.livejournal.com/thearc_rss/

I think I saw this mentioned on the forum before, though this thread was closest I could find to the issue. Presuming it's known - was it meant to be fixed along with the other RSS issue? Is it possible to? I tried to look at the code before to see if I could see what to edit myself but couldn't locate anything helpful, wasn't so much expecting to since I'm no coder. No prefix on my database.

Any ideas?

I clicked on this link

http://syndicated.livejournal.com/thearc_rss/

Clicked on one of the links under "Fetch Time" and went to a page that had the correct links.

Where are you seeing it appear incorrectly?

If you look at the source of the RSS, the link is correct.

For whatever reason when you look at the feed you have the story Trading Places there twice both listed as being 6:00 p.m. the first link takes you to the 404 page, but the second takes you to the correct one: http://syndicated.livejournal.com/thearc_rss/28463.html

Ah, yes I see it's working now - it's like the old non-working entries are mirrored in the opposite order by ones with the correct link. Don't know when that started working, wasn't like that an hour or so after I'd updated and when I posted about this...

Seems to be fine now, except I can't figure out why there's a June 3rd story at the top when the rest of the working entries are otherwise descending by date, though hopefully all will be well once more stories are posted and the older entries to the feed are pushed off the page.  Sorry for any bother and many thanks for fixing these issues.

LJ checks the feed not every hour, what you can always do is contact them and ask them to empty the feed and re-load it entirely. If you ask them and explain what is going on, they are willing to help. At least in my experience.
