Online stat count

Is there a way to get an online stat count, which includes how many people are currently online and WHO is online, on to my skins?

I am using most Kali skins if that makes a difference?

*edited to say* I found the online stats in block, but when i selected it, I get this code and now my welcome box has gone.

A fatal MySQL error was encountered.

Hi

I am trying to insert a scrolling div in the listings, as I want it to sit within my theme. The middle td box is set to height
830px and I would like the stories to scroll so it is not in a very long page and set to a certain height.

What is the correct code for this please. The scrollers do work in the themes as I have it on the site but it is not scrolling through the whole list.

Banner Sizing

If you install a theme that has no banner included in the layout example, but it is possible to add one - how do you know what dimensions to make it? Is it just a wild guess, or are the skins all roughly the same when it comes to banner size?

Hi guys, I wonder if anyone can help.
I only seem to have this problem using this skin. Some, but not all stories end up having no spaces between paragraphs. Does anyone know why this could be?

Does anyone know why my banner won't center and is leaning towards the left? Is it because I haven't altered the size in the css file? (I can't see where to do that) All I have done is added the image url in the header tpl.

I was wondering if anyone could help me. I'm fairly new at using skins, so I have no idea what this error means.

It happens when I install the skin. I haven't even personalised it yet. I just wanted to see how it would look.

Can anyone help? We're using the new efiction software.

Snow White Theme - On Mobile

Hi,

I am using the brilliant 'Snow White' theme on my site - wanted something responsive. Several people have commented since I switched over that whilst it looks amazing on the desktop, on mobile they hate having to scroll through the whole sidebar menu before they reach the story text when they click on a link. Is there any way to remove this so that the sidebar doesn't appear on the stories? There is a comprehensive menu at the top of the page, and a full-screen-width would be nice with some of the much longer fics.

Any advice would be great.

Adding 'Category' to 'Recent Stories' Block in "Snow White"

Hi,

I have recently started using 'Snow White' on my archive (I have this as the default and the only option as I like to keep things neat and that way I know everything displays properly). Anyway, my question is this:

How do I add the 'category' as a display on the recent stories block on the index? I have very recently (this weekend) introduced a new fandom and would like to ensure it's clear to readers who have come for one fandom only which stories have been uploaded as new to the separate categories (and their sub categories). Is there any way to do this?

{menu_content} where is this variable declared?

I'm trying to edit my skin, but I want to change the classes & whatnot (and basically phaff about) with the menu. Experiment, if you will.

However, I cannot find where in any of the code the {menu_content} variable is "declared" (sorry, I'm not sure if that's the right term). I mean, what makes up {menu_content} - that is, what do I have to change to alter the behaviour of {menu_content}?

I've searched through the whole efic installation, and the text "menu_content" doesn't appear anywhere, in any of the files, either as code or text (not sure what the difference is, but Dreamweaver seems to care).

Actually, now I'm looking, I can't find where a lot of the variables are declared. Obviously, I'm not looking at it the right way - can anyone give me some pointers?

Creating a responsive theme (or trying to)

Using the latest version of efiction and I'm trying to create a responsive theme. However, I seem to be having issues - probably with the javascript (although, I'm not sure as I'm a bit ordinary at this).

Anyway, as there'll only be one theme available for the site, I'm trying to put this in the main header.php:

Note that I have changed the style.css to layout.css.
Sorry I don't have a URL but I'm using MAMP because I have a rubbish internet connection.

My main question would be - is this the right place to call the javascript. I assumed so because it needs to be in the but I'm not really sure now...it doesn't seem to be executing the media queries, that is, resizing gracefully.

Anyway, if something could maybe let me know if this is just bonkers (i.e. I should put it in the theme's header.tpl) or any other suggestion, I would be grateful.
